Spirit of Birmingham – Beer Seasoned English Oak Single Cask

A very special and limited release bottle, only the 4th whiskey to be bottled at Spirit of Birmingham Distillery and the second single cask (And the first non-distillery release), this whiskey is:

• Mixed mash bill of Barley, Oats & Rye
• Staffordshire English Oak 100 litre cask (medium toast, medium char)
• Seasoned with Spirit of Birmingham beer wash (the same batch of wash used to make the new make spirit) for 6 months
• 3 year maturation to become whiskey
• Only 111 bottles in total
• 59% ABV (pure cask strength)

With notes of caramelised roasted nuts, stone fruits, maraschino cherries, toffee and baking spices this is a sublimely flavoured dram that holds up with water, offering a wonderful mouthfeel and texture for such a young dram.

Each bottle comes with two bottles of the cask-aged beer (now bottle conditioned) to enjoy alongside – a true marriage of related products from the same craft distillery in suburban Birmingham. A small, but mighty dram for a small but mighty distillery.
