Henstone 5 Year Old Corn Whiskey

“The Forgotten Cask”

Henstone Distillery produced a batch of their “Old Dog Corn Liquor” back in 2021, but had a little bit of spirit left over. Luckily they had a small cask (a Pedro Ximinez seasoned Firkin, no less) to hand and filled it with this liquid. Then, duly forgot about it. Only when they oved distillery site did they stumble across this little gem – at which point Chris phoned Richard (our founder) and we had to buy it after sampling this unique dram.

Now 5 years old, this Corn Whiskey (64% English corn, 16% Rye, 16% Wheat) is a Bourbon style mash-bill fully matured in the PX seasoned Firkin. Think dried fruits, chocolate Panettone and toffee apple vibes with a hint of mint and savoury thyme. Delicious and perfect for the colder Autumn / Winter nights.
